I can’t say enough great things about this place! My husband and I sat at the bar one night for apps and drinks and the vibe, the drinks, the service and food sold us! We booked our son’s pizza party here with his friends and it was out of this world! They go above and beyond! It was the perfect party! Highly recommend Garden State for everything from a drink to a party!! Sold forever!

Giving thanks to the GS Tavern for making my family's Thanksgiving a wonderful time. It was our first time there so I was a little nervous, but when I walked in and saw the way they had decorated for the holiday, I knew I picked the right place. My 100 year old mother and her sister, my husband and my cousins all got to be together and enjoy a fantastic meal. Ashley was our server and she was terrific. My husband said there was not one thing on the huge menu that he did not want to try. We ordered Caesar salads, pot stickers and perogies and shared. Our entrees were cooked to perfection, steak, salmon, stuffed pork chop and a burger for mom. Ashley was concerned that only 3 bites of the hamburger were eaten, but my mom eats like a bird and she really did enjoy it. I'm sure the Blue Moon filled her up. We will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu. Huge tank you to all.

We were fans of Brook Taphouse, but honestly, the menu is more expansive and the food is better overall. Although you won’t find a thinny thin pie here anymore, their pizza is really good and the other items are even better than the old BT. Will be going back again!

We had such a great time here!! Every dish we ordering was delicious. Very fresh. The cocktail we got, Maple Bourbon, was really good. Service was also great. Every staff member was extremely nice. I would recommend this place and look forward to coming back!!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and fun Jersey menu! Plenty of options for whatever you're in the mood for! Was there on Opening night and opted for the Trenton Tomato Pie, which was crisp and the sauce was great! I had the Mac and Cheese Mania as my main, love having the breadcrumbs, delish! Rounded off with the Reese's peanut butter pie which was a perfect way to end my meal! Tasted the Jersey Blue-Misu and was a fabulous non-coffee take on Tiramisu. Lots of local drafts available too! Go check it out but make sure you're hungry!

I’m glad I discovered garden state tavern after I moved into north Caldwell. It’s such a delightful atmosphere and the entire staff is excellent. They are above and beyond. I’ve had a bottle of wine which I did not enjoy when tasted and they took it back and allowed us to order another without delay or judgement. Another time they ran out of shrimp but we had so much food ordered that it didn’t matter to us but they gave us complimentary drinks and food regardless. The food really is good but the staff, no matter who it is is always courteous in any given situation and I can’t stress how great they make the experience here every time we come.

We live Garden State Tavern! Food is amazing and love the atmosphere! We had my son’s Graduation Party here and they did an amazing job! Food was great, our waiter was wonderful and very attentive and the bartender was great! Highly recommend! It’s definitely a hidden gem!

All I can say is this place is amazing! This was my first time visiting and the food and service was outstanding! I was very surprised how well all the food was. From the garlic wings to the short rib grilled cheese. This place is a 10 out of 10 and I will definitely be bringing my family back again!
